Architecture

On my way home from a session in Prineville last year, I noticed this building while I was driving out of town. I wrestled with myself over whether to turn around to photograph it or not, and in the end I obviously turned around. Altough the building is very regal and important looking in its own sense, the picture gains more charater by the sliver of moon hanging above the building:

Thank you Stephenie Meyer!

I don’t know exactly when I fell into the Twilight trap. I had read about the series in an aquaintances’ blog and she mentioned that the first movie was in production. I didn’t quite understand the hype, but figured, hey – I’ll bite (pun intended!). It was then that I went and saw the first movie on opening day (and took my then one month old baby with me, too) and fell in love. I raced out and picked up Twilight, the book, the very next day. I devoured it in about two days! And so I finished the whole series in under a month. I am currently re-reading the entire series. I have about 100 pages left of Breaking Dawn. Eclipse is my favorite of the series, so I am excited for June when that movie will be out! I hope they do it justice!
The book that started it all:

Yes, I know New Moon is missing (*note to self: do not lend out your favorite books!)
And, my favorite:

All the pictures were shot in the “meadow” behind my house lending additional “Twilightness” to them

A photo a day
Posted on January 11, 2010
When I started this blog last year, I wrote in my first post that I planned to post a photo-a-day. It didn’t happen, unfortunately. Yeah, I’m beating myself up about it. And then, when this year began, I promised myself that beginning January 1st I would commit to this task. Here it is, almost mid-January and I’m just posting for the 1st time! So. I can 1) forgive myself and begin to post a photo-a-day TODAY or 2) wait until next year and be mad at myself until then. Well, I am going to be optimistic and start now! C’est la vie – seize the day! There is just so much beauty to Oregon that I have plenty of material to work with. I am just going to keep my trusty canon 50D with me at all times so when opportunity presents itself I am ready! So, some of the work presented will be new. Some will be old. It will range through the categories: nature, pets, familes, ect., and I am happy to say there will be some maternity and newborn sessions! Maybe you will learn a little about me along the way. I definitely hope my competence as a photographer is demonstrated. Most of all, I hope you enjoy!!!
…. to begin, a photo of the reason it’s not a good idea to let your husband run the dishwasher:

He’s not too happy I’m sharing this picture, but it’s pretty funny – so if it makes someone smile, it’s worth it!
(If you’re wondering how it happened, liquid dish soap was used instead of dishwasher soap).

Welcome to my blog!

Hi, and welcome! My name is Deanna Golden. Wife of nine years, mother of four beautiful children, romantic at heart, and of course – photographer! I may be new to the world of blogging, but not photography. I worked as a photographer for Silversands Photography in California before moving to breath taking Central Oregon five years ago and starting my own photography business. If you have any questions, please follow the “contact” link near the page header – I would love to hear from you!
In following many other blogging photographers, I will be attempting to post a photo-a-day.
Since it is dinner time and I am famished, I thought my first photo of the day would be a mouthwatering, sweet concoction from my all-time favorite creamery: Leatherby’s!
