Mountain majesty

These pictures were actually the very first taken when my canon 50D arrived last year. It was all shiny and new – and I couldn’t wait to use it! I went and shot the breath taking three Sisters mountains, also know as Faith, Hope, and Charity.

And then there is Broken Top:

The other more noticable moutain here in this range is Bachelor, which I do not yet have a photo of. For those not familiar with this area, Bachelor is the southern most mountain, Broken Top is in the middle, and the three sisters are to the north. The old story is that Broken top was the tribe chief, the three sisters his daughters, and Bachelor was the brave warrior of which all three sisters fought over. Eventually Broken Top got so tired of the bickering that he stood between the three sisters and the Bachelor and “blew his top” in frustration.
The bible says “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible to you.” (Matthew 17:20)
I have not been able to make a single mountain budge, but I think even if I could – they are so beautiful and perfect exactly where they stand, right where God wanted them – that I wouldn’t want to.
